Its design makes it easier to manoeuvre than reusable spring-loaded guns. The one hand operation leaves the other hand free to stabilise the patient or manipulate an ultrasound probe. The cutting edge of the cannula is honed to assure intact sample capture. The point of the stylet is designed to ease the penetration with minimal trauma both to organs and surrounding tissues.
